Rapper Flo Rida Sentenced For DUI

Rapper Flo Rida was sentenced in mid-December after being convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol (DUI). Flo Rida, whose real name is Dramar Dillard, was arrested back in June of 2011 when local law enforcement in the South Beach section of Miami spotted the rapper driving erratically in his 2008 Bugatti. Officers at the scene reported that Dillard had bloodshot, watery eyes, slurred speech at the scene, and that they smelled alcohol on his breath. Dillard's blood alcohol content was reportedly 0.185%, more then double the legal limit of 0.08%. The rapper was also found to be driving on a suspended license. Instead of being sentenced to jail, however, the rapper will participate in the state of Florida's "Back On Track" program for first-time DUI offenders. As part of the program, Dillard will have to perform community service as well as take alcohol education classes. Dillard will also be expected to pay fees and court costs. If Dillard completes all the terms of his program, his DUI charge will be amended to reckless driving, which will not add points to his driver's license and makes him eligible to have his arrests and criminal records sealed.
