An unidentified Garden Grove man is suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol (DUI) last night when he crashed into an Orange County memorial around 7 o'clock in the evening. The driver reportedly damaged a gate, knocked down a light pole, jumped a curb and drove through a small block wall before allegedly plowing into the Orange County Fire Authority's Eternal Flame memorial in Irvine. The accident is said to have extinguished the eternal flame. The driver was taken to a nearby hospital and reportedly treated for a broken foot. He was expected to be arrested on suspicion of DUI after being released from the hospital.

Los Angeles DUI Defense Attorney by your side during your legal proceedings can mean the difference between preserving your freedom and having to spend time in jail. For many people, dealing with DUI charges is the first (and hopefully the only) time they have to deal with the Los Angeles criminal justice system. Unguided, that can be an intimidating experience. But with a capable
Los Angeles DUI Defense Attorney at your side, you can move confidently through your case, knowing you are being properly taken care of. For example, your
Los Angeles DUI Defense Attorney knows that you have just ten days from the time of your arrest to schedule a trial with the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), or you risk losing your driving privileges until the criminal portion of your case is resolved. An experienced attorney also knows that blood alcohol science and field sobriety tests are not always the most accurate way to determine whether or not a driver was impaired by alcohol at the time of a police stop or accident. Field sobriety tests in particular are highly subject to the opinions of the law enforcement agent administering them, and signs of alcohol impairment can easily be mistaken for what may actually be simple fatigue or illness. Breath analysis (also known as "Breathalyzer") tests can also be unreliable as the machines that calculate blood alcohol content need frequent cleaning and recalibration to be accurate. Residues from repeated usage throughout an evening can also collect in the machine and lead to falsely high readings towards the end of the night. If you are facing DUI charges, call the
