Burgess Arrested for Public Intoxication
You do not even have to be driving to be arrested for drinking too much. Megan Burgess, a now ex-Miss Teen Arkansas winner and former Miss Teen U.S.A. contestant, was arrested by local law enforcement in her home state after the resident advisor in her University of Arkansas college dormitory called police. According to reports, Burgess, who is 19 and under the legal drinking age, was inebriated enough to be causing a public nuisance. When University police came to pick Burgess up, she was reportedly sitting outside, by herself, in the snow. Law enforcement officials at the scene described Burgess as "unstable" on her feet and potentially a "danger to herself." Officials from the Miss Teen U.S.A. organization have stated that Burgess is "mortified" by the incident and was quoted as saying she was "....sorry to bring shame on my state." Burgess was scheduled to appear in an Arkansas court on February 7th.
