Pinkel Arrested for DWI

College football coach Gary Pinkel was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated (DWI) while driving in Missouri in mid-November. Pinkel, who has headed up the University of Missouri's football program for the last 11 seasons, was pulled over by local law enforcement agents in Columbia, Missouri while on his way home from a post-practice dinner with friends. Pinkel was arrested and taken to a nearby Boone County Jail, and later released after posting $500 bond. Pinkel released a public apology expressing remorse for his lack of judgment. Pinkel's arrest comes just days after the University's dean met with campus professors to discuss the growing problem of alcohol abuse amongst students. According to reports from local law enforcement agents, no formal charges have been filed against Pinkel, though the county prosecutor has not ruled it out yet.
