Rose Facing DUI Charges
Former professional basketball star and ESPN television analyst Jalen Rose is facing charges for drinking and driving following an arrest in mid-March. Police reports indicate that Rose was driving on a West Bloomfield Township road around 2 o'clock in the morning on March 11th when his Cadillac Escalade slid off the side of the road. A passing car called local law enforcement agents, who found Rose in his car a short time later. Rose reportedly declined to take a breath analysis test at the scene of the accident and was taken to a local hospital for a blood test to determine whether or not he may have been driving under the influence of alcohol (DUI). The results of Rose's blood test have not been released and no injuries related to the accident were reported. Police at the scene of the accident say icy road conditions may have contributed Rose's vehicle sliding off the road. Rose played basketball in college as part of the famed "Fab Five" at the University of Michigan where Rose and his teammates reached the NCAA championship game in 1992. Rose then spent 13 years playing professional basketball in the NBA for several teams before retiring from professional sports in 2007. Rose is due in court sometime this month.
