Husband and Wife Arrested for DUI

A Santa Rosa couple was separately arrested on the same evening for driving under the influence of alcohol (DUI) earlier this week.  The strange story began when local law enforcement officials first responded to a crash that involved an overturned pickup truck.  When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man walking around the scene of the accident.  The man initially told officers that his truck had been stolen and he had started chasing the truck down on foot.  Police at the scene were not quite convinced that the man's story was true and guessed that the man had been driving under the influence of alcohol when he himself crashed his truck.  In a bizarre twist, the man's wife drove to the scene of the wreck just a few minutes later saying she had heard her husband had been in an automobile accident.  Law enforcement officials also determined that the wife had been driving under the influence of alcohol and proceeded to arrest her on suspicion of DUI as well.  Both husband and wife were booked into a Sonoma County jail.  No word has been given on when the couple will be arraigned or their prior DUI histories.
