Normally, drivers with Multiple DUI Convictions have to get interlock ignition devices, but this program will require first time offenders to use the device for five months (or one year if someone has been injured). A second offense would require using the device for a year and a third offense would require the device for two years.
Those convicted of a Los Angeles DUI are expected to pay for the device and its monthly rental fees.
